LMX2d — 12×12 LED Matrix Coming soon

Double the color, in a square.

A 12×12 RGB matrix with dual AW20216S drivers: 144 constant-current pixels, THT pins for breadboards.

In detail

LMX2d is our 12×12 RGB matrix: like two LMX2 merged onto a single board, with 144 LEDs driven by two AW20216S drivers over SPI (one per 6×12 half, selected with CS1 and CS2). You get the same clean gradients, smooth dimming and zero on-camera flicker as the LMX2, but on a square canvas with double the resolution — ideal for icons, pixel art and more legible text. It ships with a THT header made for breadboards, so you prototype without soldering, and it shares the WuaDisplay-LMX library with the whole family: switch panels with a single build flag.

Who is it for?
  • Pixel-art artists who want a square canvas with more resolution.
  • Icon, effects, lamp and generative-art projects.
  • Makers who prototype on a breadboard and want a quality SPI-driven RGB panel.
The problem

When 6×12 isn't enough

  • At 6 pixels wide, text and icons feel cramped.
  • Chaining two panels adds wires, solder joints and points of failure.
  • Cheap addressable LEDs flicker on camera and dim with visible steps.
The solution

The LMX2d solution

  • A square 12×12 format (144 pixels) on a single board: double the resolution of the LMX2.
  • Two AW20216S constant-current drivers, one per half (CS1 / CS2): stable brightness and zero flicker.
  • Breadboard-friendly THT pins: plug it in and prototype without soldering, with the WuaDisplay-LMX library.

What makes it special

Dual driver, flicker-free brightness

Two AW20216S constant-current drivers run all 144 LEDs: clean gradients and fine dimming across the whole panel, with no on-camera flicker.

Square 12×12 canvas

Like two LMX2 on a single board: double the resolution for icons, pixel art and more legible text in a square format.

Breadboard-friendly

THT pins in a single header: plug it into a breadboard and prototype without soldering. The same WuaDisplay-LMX library as the rest of the family.
